Deuces is a lovable, silly, and smart puppy who brings joy wherever he goes. He was found as a stray near an abandoned warehouse in Texas, likely dumped, but despite his rough start, he showed up at this Texas foster home friendly, eager, and ready to be someone’s best friend. He’s still young and full of that classic puppy energy—wrestling with his dog friends, chewing on toys, and curling up for snuggles (usually upside down) when it’s time to nap. Deuces is very curious and responds well to routine. He’s already started harness and leash training and, while cautious in new environments, he’s quick to bounce back and eager to learn. He picks up on cues from other dogs and has shown great social awareness for his age. He thrives with positive reinforcement and would do well with someone who’s ready to invest in consistent training. He’s healthy now but came in underweight and is still catching up—nothing a little food and love won’t fix. He needs a yard to burn off energy, regular potty breaks, and chew toys to keep him busy. He barks a bit when something new catches his attention or when he hears neighbor dogs, but it’s typical puppy talk. Deuces would do best in an active home with a dog playmate and a family ready to guide him through all the fun stages of growing up. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Deuces was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Deuces’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Deuces’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Deuces’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
