About this Cat
Howdy, I’m Artie! I am a very chill guy, who loves exploring and investigating new things. Because of my beginnings, I’m very timid at first and am still finding my footing on what the good life is all about. I absolutely love playing with string toys and will entertain you with my acrobats! Check out this cute video of Artie playing. I’m not the most cuddly, but that is a new thing to me so that may change as I become more comfortable. My foster mom says I’m a great mix of entertaining myself and being good company keeping a watchful eye on things. My bonded brother Mr. Poe and I love a nice play session together and will melt your heart with our brotherly love. We are a good balance — while I’m a little more independent and playful, Mr. Poe is a quieter more cuddly guy. If you give me some time and patience, I may just be your perfect companion! Artie is from a local shelter. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.

Adopt Artie and Receive Artie's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Artie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Artie's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Artie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Artie's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Artie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Artie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Artie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Artie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
