About this Cat
Hi everyone! My name is Toad and I am a tripod cat, which means that I only have 3 legs. A couple months ago, I was taken in by CACC after getting hit by a car. I was in terrible pain and had a broken leg and wounds all over my body. CACC bandaged up 3 of my legs to prevent further injury. ARF took me in and scheduled a vet appointment. The vet said that it was one of the worst leg fractures he’s ever seen and told my foster mom that I would need an amputation in order to get better. I do have a weird tail too that’s slightly kinked but it does not cause me any pain, which is great news! ARF scheduled my surgery and within a week, my leg was gone and I was already feeling so much better. The incision site healed beautifully and I was grateful that I could walk around for the first time without pain. It was a tough time for me but throughout the entire process, I remained a sweet and courageous cat. Even when my leg was broken, I still loved cuddles and food and attention. Now, with 3 legs, I get around great and have no problem using the litter box, playing with toys, and moving from room to room. I still limp a little awkwardly since I’m getting used to only having three legs, but in truth, I have had a remarkable recovery. If you want to meet a resilient cat who has fought hard to be here today, I would love to meet you! I love life and all types of people. I am generally fine with other cats, as long as they’re nice to me. I just need to be in a home with other animals and people who are respectful of my 3-legs and who know that I can’t quite move around as well as a normal cat. But I promise to steal your heart and love as soon as you see my sweet face. I also wanted to mention that I’m a huge foodie and love both dry and wet food, so you will have no problem with getting me to eat my dinner. Lastly, I absolutely love rubbing up against you and getting belly rubs. I will curl up into the cutest ball to show you my tummy. And of course, I will always give you upside down air biscuits, just to prove how absolutely perfect I am. Do I sound like the guy for you? If so, apply for me, Toad, today! Toad is microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained. Toad’s adoption fee is $135. If you are interested in meeting Toad, please fill out our Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.
