I’m Mercury and I’m looking for a home with lots of play and pets. I’m a boy with three things on my mind: pets, play, and paté, although not necessarily in that order. I’m an aggressive snuggler — when I want pets I’ll headbutt you so hard I fall over! My affection extends to other kitties too! I love to snuggle with the other cats in my foster home, even the ones who think I’m annoying. My favorite companion is Brownie, another ARF cat, because he can keep up with my cuddles and he likes to wrestle. When I’m not chasing or snuggling one of my friends, I like to show off my expert hunting skills. Back in the day I was an expert bird hunter, but now I’m content to watch them on Cat TV and pluck feathers out of cat toys. I now employ my skills as an insect exterminator and toy-catching acrobat. I am cautious when I meet new people, but I’m the sweetest boy once I come out of my shell. I’m looking for a patient owner to bring out my snuggly side. I would be okay in a home with older kids, but I would prefer to live with only adults. I probably would not get along with a dog. I would like to go to a home with another cat so I always have a friend to sleep or play with. I get along very well with other friendly, snuggly cats. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Mercury's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Mercury was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Mercury’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Mercury’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Mercury’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
