Hi everyone! This is Burton checking in. I’m a silky black and white cat, and I am ready to find my forever home! I’m the ultimate lap cat — seriously, I would sit criss-cross-applesauce in your lap all day long if you let me. Any time my foster mom has a spare moment, I’m climbing into her lap to snuggle in for a long, relaxing session. You can scroll through this page to see tons of pics of me being my adorable self. I’ve got a serious soft spot for wet food (any kind will do!), and when you look into my eyes — the most brilliant shade of green — I promise you’ll be smitten. I’m really just looking for a home that can give me the love, attention, and daily pets I’ve been dreaming of. I’d thrive in a home with adults or older kids who understand I can be a little sensitive at times. Sudden movements or being picked up can scare me — I wasn’t treated very kindly in the past, so being lifted into the air isn’t my favorite thing. That said, it might sound funny, but I do love climbing into laps on my own! I just like to be in control of the cuddles. I would also do really well in a home with another friendly cat — I enjoy having a feline buddy around and get along great with my fellow kitties. If you’ve got a cozy lap and a heart ready to love, I’d love to meet you. My foster mom says I’m very easy to handle when it comes to things like vet visits — just show me a Churu or a spoonful of wet food, and I’m game! For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Burton was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Burton’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Burton’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Burton’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
