We will be located at The Book Stall 811 Elm Street Winnetka IL 60093.Queenie may be petite, but she rules with her charm. With her impossibly big, round eyes and soft-as-silk fur, she’s the picture of innocence, though her antics will keep you laughing. One minute she’s springing up on her back feet like a tiny kangaroo to swat at string toys, the next she’s delicately dipping her paw in the water bowl and scattering droplets everywhere like it’s part of her royal ritual.She’s great with other cats, including adults and seniors, always friendly and respectful (though she may sneak in a playful tail-bop if the opportunity arises). Queenie would love to be adopted with one of her siblings, Diamond, Clover, or Artie. She is especially fond of Diamond. If not, she’ll need another young, playful cat in her new home to keep her company and share in her adventures. She will do well with older teenage children.Though she’s playful and curious, Queenie is a little on the skittish side. Loud noises and sudden movements send her scampering, so she’ll do best in a calmer home where she can explore at her own pace. When she's feeling a little unsure she likes to hide out in her own cozy cave. Once she feels safe, she’ll happily trot over for pets, pushing her head into your hand and purring like she’s been waiting all day for your affection. She’s not big on being picked up (a queen must maintain her dignity, after all), but she’ll sometimes curl up nearby for a nap, keeping you company in her own independent way.Queenie is especially endearing when she lets her silly side slip out. Once she was caught on the table with her tongue sticking out, eyes wide as saucers, looking equally regal and ridiculous. It’s those little expressions that make her impossible not to love.Queenie is looking for a loving home where she can be her playful, affectionate, sometimes silly, sometimes shy self. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Queenie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Queenie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Queenie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Queenie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
