Meet Damen a sweet little Tabby found orphaned on Damen Avenue Lucky for Damen, a good samaritan scooped him up off the street, and brought him to Chicago Animal Care and Control just in time. It took three fosters to save his life. Damen was struggling to move, breathe, or eat, but once he started, he hasn't stopped! Damen is now a fully vetted tiger who is ready for adoption. If you look closely, you can see two adorable little swirls within his beautiful stripes on both of his sides.Once Damen was healthy and ready to rumble, he became the king of single kitty syndrome. That translates to "I need a buddy SOON to teach me how to cat"! As fate would have it, Douglass, another orphan found in the tire of a hot car, was in need of a friend too. In this case, it took Damen and Douglass about 10 minutes to become brothers! In fact, they are now a bonded pair, which means they must be adopted together! They are very attached, and it has been a pleasure to watch them flourish as a duo. They are seldom apart and ADORE the resident dog and cat in their foster home. They are also wonderful with respectful children. Damen's favorite place to sleep is on the giant dog bed while the dog sleeps right next to him on the floor . You can usually find Damen playing with his toys, climbing the cat tree, zooming around, and getting nose kisses from foster dad. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Damen's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Damen was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Damen’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Damen’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Damen’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
