Athena and Piper are a delightful bonded pair of 3-year-old Rat Terrier mixes who each weigh about 10 pounds. These sweet little ladies are truly a dynamic duo—where one goes, the other happily follows. Piper is the shyer of the two, but with Athena’s gentle encouragement, she’s learning to be brave and show off her playful side. They’re tidy girls who keep a clean kennel. When they’re out and about they love to zoom around your feet and bring smiles wherever they go. Once they’ve decided you’re a friend, they’ll be right in your lap, whether you’re relaxing on the couch or sitting at your desk. They’re still a little unsure of men at the moment, but with patience and kindness, their affectionate nature shines through. Athena and Piper are looking for a forever home together where they can keep each other company, share their sweet cuddles, and continue to blossom as the inseparable pair they are. Their combined adoption fee is $450, plus a $15 fee per dog for the rabies transfer fee for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Piper's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Piper was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Piper’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Piper’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Piper’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
