About this Dog
Flint is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever mix with a heart that’s slowly beginning to bloom. Weighing in at about 70 pounds, Flint is still learning what it means to be truly loved. Life in the shelter has been hard on him, and it’s clear that affection is something new—but he's discovering that being cared for feels pretty wonderful. Each day, he's opening up a little more, letting his gentle nature shine through. He’s a favorite among our volunteers, greeting them with his sweet hound bark and those lovable floppy ears. On walks, Flint starts out with a burst of enthusiasm—he’s so excited to get going!—but once he settles into the rhythm, he walks beautifully. He adores being outside and would happily spend all day soaking up the sunshine and fresh air. Having spent most of his life in a kennel, the outdoors is his happy place. Flint keeps a spotless kennel at the shelter and has proven himself to be clean and respectful of his space. He also enjoys toys, especially squeaky ones and balls, and he’s gentle with them—no destruction, just pure enjoyment. He’s got a nice dose of energy, but he’s not a wild child. He won’t bowl you over, but he will make you smile. Flint is ready for a patient, loving home that will continue to show him that life can be safe, kind, and full of joy. He's waited long enough to find his place in the world—could it be with you? His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Adopt Flint and Receive Flint's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Flint's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Flint's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Flint, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Flint's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Flint was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Flint’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Flint’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Flint’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
