About this Dog
Blossom is an 8–9-month-old Border Collie/Lab mix with a heart as big as her curiosity! Weighing in at about 30 lbs, she’s the perfect medium size — not too big, not too small, and doesn’t need a ton of space to thrive. What she does need is a loving home where she can be part of the family. Blossom loves to be near her people no matter what you’re doing — cooking, working, watching TV, or just hanging out — she’s right there soaking it all in. But she also does a great job entertaining herself with chew toys and bones when you're busy. She seems to be house-broken, and while we’ve been taking her out regularly (we work from home), she’s had zero accidents and is doing great with a routine. Blossom is smart and eager to please — she’s already learned to sit on command and is working on more good habits like staying under the table during meals (and not begging!). This girl is naturally curious and loves to explore around the house with you. She can be startled by loud noises and is still gaining confidence outside, but she’s already come such a long way. When she first arrived, she didn’t know how to do stairs and barely wanted to leave her dog bed — now she enjoys daily walks, snuggles, and being your little shadow. Like any young pup, Blossom needs supervision around tempting objects like shoes, socks, and remotes — but she’s learning quickly. She stays in a crate when we leave the house and handles it well. She’s not much of a barker — in fact, the only time we’ve heard her bark was at her own reflection (she thought she found a new friend!). She also discovered that chasing water from the hose is the best game ever. Blossom is sweet, gentle, loyal, and full of love. She’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply and wants nothing more than to have a person (or people) of her very own. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s smart, snuggly, and silly in all the right ways — Blossom might just be your perfect match. If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

Adopt Blossom and Receive Blossom's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Blossom's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Blossom's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Blossom, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Blossom's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Blossom was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Blossom’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Blossom’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Blossom’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
