About this Dog
This is Sadie and she is the most incredible girl! In early June, she was found abandoned and alone in the mountains of eastern KY. She had clearly just given birth to puppies, but they were nowhere to be found. Luckily, someone brought her to safety and she found a temporary foster home. She got her freedom ride to Chicago on August 9 and she has been enjoying the good life ever since! She has shown me how resilient dogs can be and while life has not always been fair to her, she has the purest heart. She is happy ALL of the time. She wags her tail when she’s eating, she wags her tail when she’s drinking and she wags her tail the moment she wakes up in the morning. It is impossible to be in a bad mood around her. She is housebroken, crate trained and is quickly learning to walk on a leash in a bustling urban environment. She has never met a stranger and she looks hopefully at every human we pass, hoping they will give her a pat, a pet, a belly rub or kiss. She leans into you as if you are the most important person in her life. She will often sit next to me on the couch and lay her head on my shoulder, with her paw on my leg, almost like she is a little human. She is so gentle when she takes a treat from my hand and she is so quiet; I haven’t even heard her little voice yet! She is excited to meet other dogs and she has been tender with the kids she’s met on walks as well. She is a mixed breed, weighs 41 pounds and is estimated to be 3 years old. She will thrive with a family and would love a fenced in yard where she can play, roll in the grass and bask in the sunshine. This foster Mom is so excited to find her the home of her dreams If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

Adopt Sadie and Receive Sadie's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Sadie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Sadie's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Sadie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Sadie's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Sadie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Sadie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Sadie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Sadie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
