About this Cat
Toffee is a four-year-old black cat whose heart is still waiting to heal. Life hasn’t been easy for him, and it shows: he’s shy, quiet, and tends to shut down when the world feels too big. But behind those cautious eyes is a gentle soul who simply hasn’t had the chance to bloom. Toffee does also carry FIV, and the fights on the street that resulted in this virus may be part of what's holding him back. I'm sure he is afraid that the stigma of FIV could hold him back from finding a family. . . but cats with FIV just need the same quality care as any Catsnap cat. The virus is not easily spread, and it just means a lower immune system. We find that these cats live as long, on average, as FIV negative cats when well cared for. Toffee doesn’t ask for much. He isn’t the kind of cat to run up and demand attention. But if you have patience, kindness, and a quiet home, he might just learn that people can be safe and good. What Toffee needs is someone willing to see past the shyness and give him the gift of time. Every cat deserves a chance at love, and Toffee is no exception. He may never be the boldest or the bravest, but for the right person, his trust will be the most meaningful gift. Could you be the one to show Toffee that he’s finally home? Thank you for your interest in a CATsNAP cat or kitten! If you would like to meet a cat, please complete the online application located on our website catsnap.org. We do not have a walk-in facility; most of our cats are in foster homes. For this reason, we require an approved application on file before we set up a meet and greet. Completing an online application does not obligate you to adopt! We care deeply about our cats and want the best match for all involved. All CATsNAP cats and kittens are: Vaccination against Panleukopenia (Distemper), Rhinotracheitis, and Calicivirus Vaccination against Rabies (if animal is over 4 months of age) Testing for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) Initial de-worming, flea, and ear mite treatment Sterilization of the animal prior to adoption; no exceptions Micro-chipping as mandated by state law

Adopt Toffee and Receive Toffee's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Toffee's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Toffee's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Toffee, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Toffee's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Toffee was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Toffee’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Toffee’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Toffee’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
