About this Cat

My wife and I are in a position where we really need to rehome one of our cats, Pippin. We are a home to currently 5 cats, all rescues. Our newest rescue, Pippin, is a 3 1/2 year old male, who has been neutered, and is up-to-date on all of his shots. We will gladly provide his veterinarian contact information on request. We have had him for 3 years now. While he is a wonderful boy on his own, he does not get along with the other cats and continually chases them. Yet he is social enough that he really does not like to be cooped up away from people. He would be great in a single pet home, or maybe as a barn cat, though he has been an indoor cat as long as we have had him. We adopted him from our vet's office, where he was turned in as a stray kitten. We have tried several calming options (collars, food, etc) to no effect. As a result, none of the cats, Pippin included, are happy. We have tried to find him a new forever home privately, and have checked with several other feline rescues, and all seem to be completely full. Our county humane society used to be a no-kill shelter, but due to overcrowding, I am not positive that this is still the case. I'd hate for him to be euthanized since when he's on his own, he is very affectionate and playful; a really nice cat and a very handsome cat. However, in our house, the choice is either to rehome Pippin or have 5 unhappy cats. I am hoping someone can help. If you can accept Pippin into your Rescue, please reach out to me directly. I hope to hear from you soon.

Adopt Pippin and Receive Pippin's Fund

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Pippin's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

How will Pippin receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Pippin, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Pippin's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Pippin was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Pippin’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Pippin’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Pippin’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
