About this Dog
LOOKING FOR OUR NEW FAMILY: Austin Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 43 lbs. & Dylan Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 41 lbs. Hi, we’re Austin (the white dog) & Dylan (the wire-haired dog) & we were at animal control when Mostly Mutts came for us. We’re a bonded pair & are looking for a home together. We don’t recall much of our past but were quite scared & shut down initially. The volunteers & trainers have been working with us & showing us lots of love, helping build our confidence. We’re currently in the prison/foster training program off-site, learning a lot & doing very well! Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when we’re available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I, Austin, like to be the follower & I, Dylan, am more the leader in our friendship. We have attempted to be separated but we thrive when we’re together, so we need to be adopted together. If you’re looking for 2 lovely dogs, perhaps we could be the ones. We’ve met other dogs around our size & done well with them, so let’s meet. / Cats unknown. / We’ve met kids at Mostly Mutts, & were nervous but interested, so think we would do best living with older, mature kids who are 15+ or perhaps younger (10+) kids who have calm natures. Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: We’re two nice boys who likely didn’t really get the kind of love & attention dogs are supposed to have before coming to Mostly Mutts & it took us a while to settle in, but thanks to the patient volunteers & trainers, we’re both doing much better! I, Austin, still need a bit more time — I’m learning to trust & let people give me gentle love. I have a heart-shaped spot on my hip, & I like to think it’s a sign of all the love I have waiting inside me. I just need someone who understands I didn’t grow up like most dogs & will give me the time & space I need. I, Dylan, have come a long way — I love people now, & I get excited for playtime & cuddles with the volunteers. I even did great during my photo shoot! We both know we’ll need a dog-savvy family who understand that we will need time to adjust, & we’re ready to try. We ask for a home that will offer patience, routine, & calm environment. No apartments or condos, please, as that would be too busy for us. With patience, kindness, & love, we know we’ll become the amazing companions we were always meant to be. / Our energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I, Austin, know all of the commands below that Dylan knows except I haven’t mastered my leash walking yet. I, Dylan, am a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, & have mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' & 'place' commands. I also use proper door etiquette & have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. Neither of us would be comfortable walking in busy areas & would like a fenced yard if possible. / I, Austin, have had good crate manners. I, Dylan, get stressed when in a crate so I’ve started a medication called Trazadone to help with this & it seems to be helping me. / Both of our potty habits have been good on a schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in our new home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES: We love being together, playing & having fun! We also really like our trainers & thrive in a nice calm environment. I, Dylan, enjoy playing in the pen with the volunteers & going for walks. I especially loved rolling in the mud on a recent rainy day at the shelter — it was so much fun! I also love head scratches, belly rubs, & sweet talk. We will need our adoptive family to open their hearts & give us time to adjust & relax in our home. We’re sure we wouldn’t like it if we didn’t get enough attention, exercise & training. • MEDICAL: We’re current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered. I, Austin, am on inexpensive anxiety medication called Fluoxetine to help me with my stress & I, Dylan, am on that same medication as well as the above-mentioned Trazadone to help me with my crate anxiety & it seems to be helping me! I recently started a new kibble, Hill's Prescription Diet w/d Multi-Benefit, to help firm up my # 2s. I can likely be weaned off of this once I’m settled into my new home, so please just ask about it. We’re looking for a home together with a dog savvy family who will use patience & love to help us adjust in our new home & will love us furever! Our adoption fee is $300.00 in total, & we’re located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Adopt Austin & Dylan and Receive Austin & Dylan's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Austin & Dylan's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Austin & Dylan's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Austin & Dylan, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Austin & Dylan's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Austin & Dylan was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Austin & Dylan’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Austin & Dylan’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Austin & Dylan’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
