About this Dog
A SWEET & GENTLE LOVEBUG: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 27 lbs. Hi, my name is Chester! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and have been soaking up all the love from the amazing volunteers ever since. When I arrived, I was heartworm positive, but thanks to Mostly Mutts, I got the treatment I needed and I’m now in my resting and recovery period. Even though I’m lying low while I heal, I’m still available for adoption — so just ask about me! I was adopted for a few weeks, but it turned out not to be the right fit, so I’m back and ready to find the perfect match who’ll give me the forever home I’ve been waiting for. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, but I will after my resting and recovery period. The family that adopted me for a few weeks reported that I was good with the dogs I met while I was with them, so if you have a dog at home, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, and I liked them. I also met and liked the 4- and 6-year-olds in my 4-day short break foster home – though I did steal their stuffed toys – oops! So, if you have kids around those ages, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m described as a very sweet and relatively calm guy with a friendly, loving and gentle demeanor who just loves being around people. I made a great impression during my photo shoot — flashing my best smile and winning over the photographer with my charm! The volunteers keep saying I’m “a great dog,” and I have a feeling you’ll think so, too. I do have a bit of a habit of mounting pillows and dog beds in the 2 homes I was in — oops — but it’s something that can be trained and the folks at Mostly Mutts are happy to help you with that. / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I know the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘leave it’ commands, and I bet you can teach me even more. / I don’t like being in a crate as it’s very stressful to me. / I've been having a few accidents on the shelter schedule, though I’m improving, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. In the 2 homes I was in, I really wanted my people to come out in the fenced yard with me while I did my business. Not to worry, I was quick about it and then was ready to come back inside. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love attention and company — whether it’s getting pampered during bath time, sitting with volunteers while I eat, or hanging out at the front desk at Mostly Mutts to greet people. I enjoy lap time, stuffed toys, and being petted, though I’ll get up and leave when I’m done, so petting in moderation is great for me — I call that not being too demanding. / I’m not a big fan of most dog toys — I only like the stuffed ones — and louder things like the trash truck and thunder make me a bit uneasy. Other than those things, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’ve been treated for heartworms and will be re-tested in mid to late January 2026, and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that test with their vet, so local adoption is best. I am looking for a loving home with a great furever family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Adopt Chester and Receive Chester's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Chester's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Chester's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Chester, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Chester's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Chester was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Chester’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Chester’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Chester’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
