About this Dog
Sophie was originally picked up by a local shelter in poor condition and with injuries. PRBJ agreed to take Sophie and work to get her healthy. She was immediately taken to Healthy Pets where their wonderful veterinary staff worked with getting Sophie a treatment plan. Sophie's leg is now all healed up, and she is ready for a furever home. She is a delightful, goofy girl who likes to give big sloppy kisses and wag her tail:) She likes to spend time out in the sun and will go outside every time she has a chance. She is a strong chewer and likes nyla and benebones. She loves clean comfy blankets and bedding and will try to climb over you to get on them even as you are changing them out. Sophie loves to have her belly rubbed and will flop on her side with the hopes of your attention and affection! Sophie sleeps and eats in a crate and know the command, "Sophie, place." She does need to be settled before leaving her at bedtime, or she will resume barking. Sophie gets along with big dogs, but can be selective as she sometimes gets jealous. She is a little too interested in little dogs, so we do not recommend a home with smaller dogs or cats. Sophie needs: -a single family home as she has a very deep bark -a hooman/family who is around most of the time as she has separation anxiety and reacts by constant barking -special urinary diet and Cosequin supplement daily Sophie has some special needs: she is hard of hearing and does well with hand signals. She can hear best if she is facing you as well. She needs bedding changed in the morning as she tend to leak urine. We use a rewashable bed pad and that works well.

This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Sophie *FH* the Belly Rub Lover was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Sophie *FH* the Belly Rub Lover’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Sophie *FH* the Belly Rub Lover’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Sophie *FH* the Belly Rub Lover’s balance will remain in our general fund.
