About this Dog
When it comes to rat terrier charm, handsome Bilbo is the full package! This sociable fellow likes people and will greet them eagerly sometimes acting as frisky and jumpy as a puppy rather than the dignified 9-year-old he actually is. Once he has ushered you into his home, Bilbo may show off how exceptionally bright he is by performing some of his many verbal commands, such as "sit", "lie down", "high five", "stay", "leave it", "heel", go to crate, and even "play dead"! He will bask in your admiration and gladly accept your belly rubs and bum scratches. He'll also happily chill beside you on the couch and look at you earnestly with his soulful eyes. Bilbo has lovely house manners and reliable house-training so you don't have to worry about him getting into mischief. He will eagerly engage you in a game of tug-of-war or fetch, but he also likes just being a snuggly 30-lb. couch-potato and he is calm when left alone at home. He walks wonderfully on leash, though when he meets other dogs out on walks, he sometimes gets overexcited and tries to show dominance. He will soon settle down if the other dog is confident and passive, but it will be necessary to arrange an initial meet-and-greet in a neutral location if his potential family has other dogs. Bilbo does have one particular demand for his new home: that he be given plenty of space during his meal times. If he thinks someone is too close to his food bowl he may try to bite. He is particularly uneasy around youngsters and would do best in a kid-free home. In a household that can manage that request, Bilbo will prove himself to be a fun-loving, well-adjusted bundle of joy...and your perfect companion! Adopt Bilbo (FL) and Receive Bilbo (FL)'s Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bilbo (FL)'s new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Bilbo (FL)'s current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Bilbo (FL), thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Bilbo (FL)'s contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bilbo (FL) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bilbo (FL)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Bilbo (FL)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bilbo (FL)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
