About this Dog
Rusty is just the most precious boy! He is around 2yo and weighs 17lbs. With his long but stout body and beautiful red coat, he may be a long-hair dachshund mix. Rusty loves the company of other dogs, kitties and adults. We haven’t seen him with kids but suspect he would do well with them too. He loves snuggling and is very food motivated. He rides well in a car, but best in a crate for longer distances. He's just an all-around fun guy and will bring joy to you every day. Rusty is crate-trained and will sleep in his crate, but he loves to sleep in the human bed too! Rusty will likely mark when in a new environment and has had some potty accidents while in foster care. We are still working to get him totally potty trained, but he’s a smart boy and we feel this will continue to improve. We prefer a fenced yard, or someone who can provide him with lots of exercise and a place to run and burn off his energy. He will also do best with another young playful dog in his forever home. He's not interested yet in playing with toys, but will chase one if thrown. And he's not a big barker, just chiming in if the other dogs bark. He is a great balance of playful and relaxed, wrestling and then napping with his foster siblings throughout the day. He wants to be as close to you as possible and likes to show affection with gentle kisses. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Rusty ADOPTION PENDING was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Rusty ADOPTION PENDING’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Rusty ADOPTION PENDING’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Rusty ADOPTION PENDING’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
