About this Cat
Gertrude is bonded with her sister, Georgie - they MUST stay together. Welcomed to our home in 2023, Gertrude and her sister Georgie are our longest foster residents. Though she may take some time to open up, Gertrude is sure to steal your heart. Intelligent and motivated, she makes quick work of any puzzle you give her, especially if treats are involved. She responds to her name and comes when called, and retrieves her sister if asked. We are teaching her some basic commands as well, such as sit and stand up, which Gertrude learns with enthusiasm. She is a fly swatting prodigy as well, fiercely protecting her territory from aerial threats. She enjoys practicing her technique with toys-on-strings of any and all varieties, playing until she falls over. The only thing she loves more than chasing flies and toys is her sister, Georgie. The two are never far apart. If Gertrude has zoomies, Georgie is on her heels. When Georgie sleeps by the window, Gertrude cuddles her and licks her head. If you are looking for a pair of cats that will always remain kittens at heart, please consider opening your home to these sweet sisters. Gertrude gets along with the other animals in our home and would do well in most households. She is a high-energy cat that benefits from daily exercise through active play. She is bonded with her sister and MUST be kept together. Please keep these in mind when considering adoption.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Gertrude was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Gertrude’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Gertrude’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Gertrude’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
