About this Dog

I’m preparing to move in with my partner and her three young children, and after a lot of thought (and heartbreak), I’ve realized that my dog, Aaden, isn’t a safe fit for this next chapter. He’s been a wonderful companion for me as a single adult—loyal, cuddly, and incredibly loving once he bonds with someone. But he’s also anxious and has a bite history, which makes him unpredictable around kids and new people. Aaden is a 6-year-old mixed breed (part boxer, chow chow, and Staffordshire terrier) with a strong personality and a big heart. He’s currently on Zoloft for anxiety and working on muzzle training as part of a behavior support plan. He’s also crate-trained and has been making progress on muzzle training with a professional trainer. He does best in a calm home with no children or other pets, and he thrives with someone patient, dog-savvy, and consistent. Once he trusts you, he’s affectionate, goofy, and deeply loyal. I’m looking for someone who might be a good match—or someone connected to a rescue or foster network that understands dogs with behavioral needs. I’m happy to provide all of his records, routines, gear, and support during a transition, and would absolutely welcome a foster-to-adopt setup if someone wants to get to know him first. I want to give Aaden the best shot at a safe, stable life where he can be himself.

Adopt Aaden and Receive Aaden's Fund

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Aaden's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

How will Aaden receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Aaden, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Aaden's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Aaden was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Aaden’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Aaden’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Aaden’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
