About this Dog
Meet Adam! This handsome mixed breed (our guess is Vizsla mixed with a couple other things) is a shy but oh so sweet guy. He came to us from a partnering Shelter. Adam is a young guy but, is understandably, shut down in a busy Shelter environment. Despite his nervous nature, he has been soft and endearing with staff and other easy-going dogs he has met at the Shelter. Adam would thrive in an adoptive home with a patient adopter who will give him the time and space to blossom. We anticipate that Adam will be a great adventure buddy and much more confident once he transitions into a stable, dog savvy adoptive home. Adam came from a home with quite a few other dogs and has attended playgroup during his Shelter stay. He is food motivated which will make positive reinforcement based training fun and a great way to bond with his new famiyl! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

100% of ADAM's balance will be sent to whoever adopts ADAM.
Adopt ADAM and Receive ADAM's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, ADAM's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is ADAM's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the ADAM, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming ADAM's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and ADAM was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, ADAM’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the ADAM’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, ADAM’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
