About this Dog
Meet Bowie â the black and white mixed breed puppy. Bowie came in as a stray and had lots of zest. To help him channel his puppy energy for good â he has been hanging out in a foster home that can meet his needs a bit more successfully than a Shelter environment. His foster reports that Bowie is very sweet⦠kind of dopey. His mouthing is typical for his age and strength. When his foster parent redirects him to a toy or remove themselves during spurts of puppy mouthing â the unwanted behavior decreases. Bowie is coexisting nicely in a home with three other dogs â two senior dogs and another juvenile. He enjoys playing with the other puppy and is learning to respect the senior dogs in the home. He sits really nicely when he wants attention and has learned to sit with a hand signal. Bowie also likes to play in sprinklers and in water! He has also been gentle in his treat taking.Bowie would thrive in an adoptive home with a resident dog who is looking for a little brother of a puppy. Could that be with you? Come into the Shelter if you want to set up a meet ân greet with Bowie today! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

100% of BOWIE*'s balance will be sent to whoever adopts BOWIE*.
Adopt BOWIE* and Receive BOWIE*'s Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, BOWIE*'s new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is BOWIE*'s current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the BOWIE*, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming BOWIE*'s contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and BOWIE* was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, BOWIE*’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the BOWIE*’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, BOWIE*’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
