About this Dog
Boomer has been going out on little vacations from the Shelter with a wonderful foster parent Bryan! He reports: âJust wanted to give an update on Boomerâs weekend. Things went very well. He seems to have settled and relaxed a lot here. He is very kind and affectionate, loves giving kisses and getting belly rubs. Heâs also a keen learner. He seems to be incredibly motivated by affirmation and seems to want to do what he supposed to. So far heâs shown that he can sit and lie down on command, and drop things heâs not supposed to touch. I put him on a long leash and he showed than he will come back on command, he did this every time in a relatively low distraction setting. Weâre also training him to stay off the couch, heâs learning but he seems to really want to climb up on it. He starting to learn what he can chew and what he canât chew. He definitely seems to like to chew things but I can see him start to correct himself on things that heâs been taught not to chew. But had to keep a bit of a watchful eye to make sure he didnât grab loose rags or towels. He had one accident in the house right when he arrived but I think it was just a product of decompressing. Since then no issues. We went for a lengthy hike in Niscene Marks on Saturday and beach walks Friday and Sunday. He did very well on the hike. It was nice and cool inside the forest and we were able to explore for about three hours.âBoomer's adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation thanks to âLeave No One Behind fundâ â designed to adopterâs eyes towards animals who have been in the Shelterâs care a little longer than average waiting for the right adopter. If you are looking for an adventure buddy who is eager connect and smart, consider coming down and meeting Boomer today! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! 100% of BOOMER's balance will be sent to whoever adopts BOOMER.
Adopt BOOMER and Receive BOOMER's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, BOOMER's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is BOOMER's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the BOOMER, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming BOOMER's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and BOOMER was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, BOOMER’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the BOOMER’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, BOOMER’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
