Jewel DOB 9/2021 Adoption fee: $225 Jewel is a sweet, gentle, loyal gal that loves catnip, chirps for treats, and spends most her day lounging around. She enjoys neck scratches, hanging out on the bed, and looking out the window! Although Jewel is mellow most of the time, she enjoys playing with toys whenever you’re willing to engage with her. She loves catnip and string toys the most! Jewel occasionally likes to be held over your shoulder or will roll around in your lap, but typically she’s happiest lounging next to you on the couch getting pets, scratches, and belly rubs. Jewel is sweet and seeks her foster mom out for attention often. She also has a sassy side and will let you know when she’s done with attention with a “merh” before walking away. She is rather chatty and has lots of different noises she makes throughout the day. Jewel is very stressed by having to leave the house (adoption events, the vet, etc) and wants to run & hide—she’s definitely a homebody and likes her familiar surroundings. Jewel really enjoys the company of other cats, but the match has to be right so that she doesn’t feel like she’s being bullied. She does really well with several male cats in her foster home and likes to sleep with them on the couch at night. Jewel would do best in an adult only home. She’s a great cat that is VERY loyal to the people she knows, so it will take her some time to come out of her shell in a new home and bond with new people. The first step in our adoption process is the application which can be found on our website lapcats.org. All of our cats have tested negative for FELV and are fully vaccinated. They have not only been spayed or neutered but have also been treated for worms, fleas, and have been micro chipped. We will register their microchip for you, provide you with a free exam visit to a participating Sacramento veterinarian, and a goodie bag!

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Jewel was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Jewel’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Jewel’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Jewel’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
