About this Cat
Brief Bio:This gentle mama cat came to us from a side yard, likely seeking a safe place to raise her last litter of kittens. About three years old, she lovingly cared for all four of her babies and now deserves a home where she can be nurtured in return. She is incredibly sweet, soft spoken, and has a calm presence. When she arrived, she was extremely underweight from the demands of motherhood and life outdoors. Now it is her turn to be cared for. With time, nourishment, and love, she is beginning to gain weight and thrive.Summary of Personality:Luna is a true nurturer at heart. She is incredibly gentle, affectionate, and calm, she brings a quiet warmth to any space. Although she was found outdoors, her very meek and tender nature suggests she was likely never an outdoor cat. She is mild mannered and docile, and she enjoys the company of other cats. She will softly vocalize when she wants attention or a warm lap to curl up in. She is not one to seek the spotlight, but once she feels safe and comfortable, she reveals her loving side through snuggles and quiet companionship. Despite her calm demeanor, she has a playful streak and will not hesitate to sneak a piece of chicken off your plate if given the chance!Home Life (experience with kids & other pets, etc):Luna has done well in a home with two small dogs, two resident cats, and a young child. She did not do well in the shelter environment, which was extremely stressful for her, and it took some time for her to settle into the foster home. She may be a little shy at first, but she adjusts with time and responds well to calm, respectful energy. Luna is not a dominant cat and does not seek to be. She gently approaches people and other animals, often trying to rub up against them in a quiet show of affection, but she is never pushy and always gives space when it is not reciprocated. She would especially thrive in a quiet home with another gentle cat to bond with, as she has been actively seeking companionship with the resident cats.Include any observations of being house trained (or not):She has struggled with litter box use and will need a patient and understanding adopter willing to help her continue to transition. While she still has accidents, she shows no desire to go outdoors and clearly feels safest inside. With time, routine, and lots of love, she may improve, but sheâll need a home ready to offer her grace and support as she adjusts. Is your foster litter box trained?: Yes
Contribute to LUNA's Stash!

100% of LUNA's balance will be sent to whoever adopts LUNA.
Adopt LUNA and Receive LUNA's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, LUNA's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is LUNA's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the LUNA, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming LUNA's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and LUNA was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, LUNA’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the LUNA’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, LUNA’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
