About this Dog
Anchovy – Gentle, Affectionate Soul Learning to Trust Anchovy is a 1-year-old, 58-pound male Pit Bull Terrier with soft, expressive eyes and a quiet demeanor. While initially shy, Anchovy’s warm and affectionate side begins to shine once he feels safe. Treat motivated: Anchovy may hesitate at first, but he’ll quickly come forward for treats—even when he’s feeling unsure—showing a willingness to connect and build trust. Affectionate when comfortable: After a bit of time to warm up, Anchovy leans in against his human companion for pets and eventually began gently rearing up to seek more attention. He clearly enjoys closeness with people once he feels secure. Learning about the world: He can be startled by loud or unfamiliar sounds and will benefit from a calm environment and gradual introductions to new experiences. Toys are still a bit puzzling for him—he prefers gentle engagement over play at this stage. Moderate leash puller: Anchovy may pull a bit on leash and is working on consistency with basic cues like “sit,” especially in new surroundings. Dog-social: He plays well with appropriately matched dogs in playgroup and could enjoy the company of a calm and confident canine companion. Anchovy would thrive with patient adopters who can help him continue building confidence. Whether he joins a home with another dog or lives solo with friendly dog friends outside the home, he’s ready to grow into a deeply devoted companion.

Adopt Anchovy and Receive Anchovy's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Anchovy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Anchovy's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Anchovy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Anchovy's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Anchovy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Anchovy’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Anchovy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Anchovy’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
